What will you be doing?
Description The Treasurer doesn't have any powers or legal duties but ensures compliance with relevant laws surrounding the keeping of Community Interest Company accounts. Responsibilities
Ensure the CIC keeps proper accounts Review the CIC’s financial performance Oversee the CIC’s reserves policy Ensure the CIC has robust and effective financial controls in place Monitor and advise on the financial viability of the CIC Advising on the appointment of an independent auditor Draft the CIC's ethical financial and investment policies Oversee the production of an annual budget Supervise the production of any necessary financial reports/returns, accounts and audits Advise on the financial aspects of the CIC’s Business Plan including potential development projects Act as a counter signatory on the bank and investment accounts

The Directors The CIC’s auditor and bank Any other professionals involved in financial matters.
Time Commitment The time commitment for this role will be around an hour to two hours per month, and may involve more time closer to the end of the financial year. Expenses Whilst this is a voluntary role, reasonable expenses such as travel and food costs will be provided.
What are we looking for?
A professional financial qualification Knowledge and experience of current finance practice relevant to voluntary and community organisations. Knowledge of bookkeeping and financial management Good financial analysis skills
What difference will you make?
The Scarlett Arts Society CIC aims to help some of the most vulnerable people in society. Originally setup to provide free arts therapy to people in need, the Society is also looking at supporting recent graduates, as well as offering gardening workshops to adults with severe learning disabilities. By volunteering in this role, you'll be helping the CIC to provide the best service we can to some of society's most vulnerable people.
