What will you be doing?
We are recruiting for new part-time volunteers to join our planning team. Planning support volunteers have an essential role in preparing responses to planning applications and appeals that have an impact on the countryside. As one of our planning team volunteers, you will do a weekly screen of planning applications in one of Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes’ six planning areas against agreed criteria. Applications that meet certain criteria would then be discussed with a Senior Planning Volunteer, who you would support. Ideally you will live in the area for which you do this. This is done online and typically takes 1-2 hours per week. You can perform this role at your home, at a time each week that suits you.
What are we looking for?
You should have good written and verbal communication skills, the ability to make sense of complex information, and up-to-date computer skills - the internet, email and Microsoft Word. You should also be detail-oriented, well-organised and reliable. Requirements We’re looking for volunteers with skills in planning/environmental areas. A business and management background would give the required skills to gain the additional knowledge needed.
What difference will you make?
CPRE Buckinghamshire campaigns for the protection and enhancement of the Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes countryside for everyone to value and enjoy. We are a branch of the national CPRE (The Countryside Charity), which is a long-standing environmental charity. Our members, supporters and volunteers come from all across the county. Why Volunteer With Us Volunteering with us is a fantastic way to help us champion environmental issues such as the climate emergency, renewable energy, biodiversity and sustainable transport. Some of our existing volunteers have been with us for many years. Why do they volunteer with us and what will you get out of it?
