What will you be doing?

About us We are a pioneering non-profit organization founded in 2021 out of the desire to promote intentional kindness and foster positive racial identity development in children and young people. Our charity's sole purpose is to advocate for kindness. We are focused on inspiring, educating, and empowering children and young adults to be kind to themselves (mental health), to others, to the environment, and extend our kindness framework to Africa.  What we are looking for We need someone who is proficient in using social media marketing (Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook) and communications to help us increase our reach in the local area and nationally. We aim to increase our engagement on all social media platforms, as a result of implementing a digital marketing strategy that will elevate the charity's profile. We are looking for people passionate about children’s education, mental health, well-being, and development. Our main ask is enthusiasm and commitment and to be a dedicated team member.

What are we looking for?

Main responsibilities

Joining our volunteer team to write and produce content for social media. Stay up-to-date with social media trends and best practices to ensure maximum effectiveness. Assist in the management of social media channels (Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) and maintain a consistent voice across all platforms. Contribute to the broader promotion of Afrikindness’s objects, aims, and reputation by applying his/her skills, expertise, knowledge, and contacts.

Skills

Proven experience managing social media platforms, or a keen interest and basic knowledge of social media marketing. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent written communication skills with attention to detail. Creative mindset and ability to produce engaging content relevant to our cause. Lived experience of the African education system would be very valuable but not essential Enthusiasm for our vision and mission.

What difference will you make?

You will be joining our charity during an exciting point in our development and a period of real growth; your expert knowledge and experience will be critical to our success. You will have a key role in ensuring we can maintain the work that we do. You will be a part of our small, extremely friendly, passionate, and forward-thinking charity team. We facilitate children-led projects, provide content and educational resources that promote kindness and advocate for kindness by working with the government and Department of Education to incorporate it into the school curriculum. Our work extends to Africa, making a global impact within the educational sector. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to make a real and lasting difference to young people. While we are unable to pay for your time, you will receive the flexibility to choose the volunteering hours that suit you and we can provide references for your great work if required.
