Organisation Summary:
ISSOS provides a unique, international learning environment at renowned universities such as Cambridge, St Andrews, and Yale. Catering to a diverse group of students aged 13–18 from over 80 nationalities, ISSOS blends academic rigor, cultural exchange, and adventurous activities to create a dynamic three-week summer school experience.

  • Role Summary:
    • Deliver a comprehensive English curriculum to international students.
    • Teach conversational skills, grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, and listening.
    • Create and implement engaging lesson plans for different proficiency levels.
    • Educate students for 3 hours per day, Monday to Friday, through a 3 week summer program.
    • Participate in evening activities on a rotational basis.
  • Role Requirements:
    • Must possess a CELTA, certTESOL, or equivalent ESL/EFL teaching qualification.
    • Previous teaching experience is required.
    • Experience with international students is preferred.
    • Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK or the US legally.
    • Pass a full criminal background check.

The organisation - ISSOS is an international summer school offering a balanced summer program of academia, fun and culture for 13–18 year olds from over 80 nationalities, at Cambridge University, St Andrews University, and Yale University.

The role - As an English Teacher, your role will be to provide an exciting and challenging syllabus where students can improve their conversational skills, including their grasp of colloquial language, develop their understanding and use of grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing and listening skills. You will be teaching a class of international students, 3 hours per day, Monday to Friday, for the duration of the 3 week programme. You will also be responsible for creating and executing interesting and engaging lesson plans, providing students with lessons tailored to their English ability, and taking part in evening activities on a compulsory rota basis.

Job requirements - Applicants must have a CELTA, certTESOL or equivalent ESL/EFL qualification. Previous teaching experience is essential and experience in teaching international students is preferred. Applicants must either be a UK or a US citizen, or have the legal right to work in the country they are applying for a role in. Please note that we cannot sponsor visas for working in the UK.

Benefits - We provide full bed and board for you at our campuses, plus fixed payment. All staff are required to be on duty (on a rota basis) for evening programmes, activities, day trips and arrival/departure days. Travel reimbursements and any finders’ fees are paid separately. We provide accommodation in all locations for all staff. Meals are provided in the halls of residence once students arrive, however, staff are responsible for their meals during Orientation.
