  • Role Summary:
    • Teach digital photography to international students.
    • Conduct 3-hour classes, 4 afternoons per week during the 3-week programme.
    • Develop and implement captivating lesson plans.
  • Role Requirements:
    • Must have prior teaching experience.
    • Preferably experienced with international student groups.
    • Extensive knowledge of various photographic techniques and styles required.
    • Fluency in English is mandatory.
    • Applicants must be UK or US citizens, or have the legal right to work in the respective country.

The organisation - ISSOS We are an international summer school that provides a balanced summer program of academia, fun and culture for 13–18 year olds from over 80 nationalities, at the University of St Andrews, Cambridge and Yale universities.

The role - Photography Teacher As one of our Photography Teachers, you will teach your students the fundamentals of digital photography in a fun, informative and inspirational manner. You will be responsible for teaching a class of international students, 3 hours per day, 4 afternoons per week for the duration of the 3-week programme. You will also be required to create and execute interesting and engaging lesson plans.

Job requirements Previous teaching experience is essential. Experience in teaching international students is preferred. You must have a vast knowledge and experience of a variety of photographic techniques and styles. You must be fluent in English. You must either be a UK or a US citizen, or have the legal right to work in the country you are applying for a role in. Please note that we cannot sponsor visas for working in the UK.

Benefits We provide accommodation in all locations for all staff. Meals are provided in the halls of residence once students arrive, however, staff are responsible for their meals during Orientation. We also offer travel reimbursements.

Visa requirements If we are taking you on the J1 visa, we will also reimburse up to $150 for travel to your embassy appointment. The cost of the J1 Visa + SEVIS Fee is paid for by ISSOS. Flights & Embassy Appointment costs are the responsibility of the staff member.
