About us

All of us are going to die. It’s a fundamental, tragic, romantic part of what it is to be human. But the services that should be supporting us haven’t changed in decades. From writing your will to planning a funeral, the way we deal with death is formal, complicated and expensive. Instead of feeling supported, people feel lost. But it doesn’t need to be this way.

We started Farewill to make the experience warmer, brighter and friendlier. We’re the UK’s biggest will writer and one of the leading funeral companies in the country. Our generous customers have pledged over £970 million to charities, through donations left in their wills. We’re backed by top investors who are as excited by our mission as we are, and we’ve won awards for the work we’ve done. But there’s a lot more to do.

The role

We’re looking for a smart, dynamic Sales Executive to join our growing Funeral Sales team. They will be the first point of contact for customers enquiring about prepaid funeral plans, helping to guide and support them in organising a cremation for themselves or their loved one. This is a newly launched product here at Farewill, making this an exciting time to join and make an indelible impact on a focal, growing part of our business.

We’re looking for someone who can be a caring and confident wealth of knowledge for our customers, helping them to understand our offering and make good decisions about what option is best for them. From there, this person will onboard those customers, and facilitate a smooth handover to our Funeral Operations team. Our ideal person will have high levels of empathy and integrity, as nothing is more critical than maintaining our customer-centricity, while still having great sales chops and the drive to hit (and exceed!) targets.

This role works hybrid (min 2 days/week in our East London office), holds the hours 9am-6pm with a 1 hour lunch break, and reports to our Funeral Sales Team Lead.

Responsibilities

  • Contacting prospects by phone and email, and guiding them through our funeral plans offering, demonstrating sensitivity and exceptional knowledge of our service
  • Working in compliance with FCA guidelines, and ensuring that we put great customer outcomes at the forefront of how we work
  • Creating a smooth handover of customers to our Funeral Ops team, and working with them to ensure continued high standards of customer service
  • Owning and hitting performance and sales targets week on week, including conversion rate and QA (Quality Assurance) scores
  • Participating in feedback sessions and call coaching, always looking to improve and deliver even better service to our customers
  • Working cross-functionally towards our company OKRs and monthly revenue targets, and assisting with quarterly team presentations

About you

  • Fluency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience selling to customers over the phone; ideally you have some experience in a fast-paced outbound B2C environment or in selling regulated or financial products
  • You’re numerate and commercially minded, and are motivated by working towards targets
  • Your friends and family would describe you as a caring, helpful person with strong interpersonal skills, always looking out for others and finding ways to make things better

Benefits

  • A competitive salary of £30k plus performance-based bonus that could take your full earnings to £45k, as well as generous stock options
  • 28 days of annual leave plus the usual public holidays
  • Personal development budget of 3 days and £1000 per year
  • Regular team socials & company-wide events
  • A chance to make a meaningful contribution to people's lives and deaths
