As EqualEd begins to scale and expand its programmes into new countries, we're looking for an experienced HR professional who can build and lead our volunteer recruitment and people functions.

What will you be doing?

This is a volunteer role, likely to initially require 5-6 hours/week commitment. However, we are very adaptable for the right candidate. As part of the role, you will help to build out a small but efficient People team, who will support you in your activities, as well as helping to design the overall organisational structure. You will work closely alongside the COO to develop the People function within this exciting and growing charity. This opportunity would particularly suit a semi- or recently retired HR leader.    Responsibilities:

Volunteer Recruitment: Develop and implement a strategy for recruiting a broad cohort of teaching and support volunteers with diverse skill sets and backgrounds. Onboarding and Training: Design and oversee a sustainable and scalable onboarding processes, ensuring volunteers are equipped with the necessary knowledge and resources. Team Development: Support the management in fostering a positive and inclusive volunteer culture, providing leadership, support and opportunities for growth. HR Policies and Compliance: Assist in developing and maintaining core HR policies, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and best practices.

What are we looking for?

Experience: 

HR Expertise: Proven experience in HR, particularly in recruitment and team management, and ideally in an education-focused setting.  Global Perspective: Understanding of cultural nuances and diversity in the context of volunteer engagement on a global scale. Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with a diverse group of volunteers. Adaptability: Ability to adapt to the dynamic and evolving nature of a rapidly expanding organisation.
