Volunteer Trustee with Financial &/or Legal Expertise

What will you be doing?

SMAG is seeking a dedicated and experienced Trustee to join our Board. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management &/or legal affairs, with a passion for Medical Health improvement. As a Trustee, you will play contributive role in overseeing the organization's strategic direction, financial health, and legal compliance, ensuring SMAG achieves its mission while maintaining its values and integrity.

Qualifications

Proven experience in financial management and/or legal practice, preferably in the nonprofit sector. Strong understanding of nonprofit governance, compliance, and regulatory environment. Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills. Commitment to the mission and values of SMAG. Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Integrity and a high degree of personal responsibility. Willingness to devote the necessary time and effort to board duties.

Education

A degree in finance, law, business administration, or a related field is preferred. Additional certifications or qualifications related to nonprofit management, finance, or law are highly desirable.

Provide guidance and oversight on financial management, including budgeting, financial planning, and financial reporting. Ensure the organization's compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans. Oversee and evaluate the organization's fiscal operations and policies. Participate in fundraising and resource development efforts. Promoting SMAG mission and values to a wider audience
