What will you be doing?
The Friendly Food Club works with all ages to help people learn to cook. We focus our efforts on working with those from low income households, physical or mental health issues or other vulnerable groups. In 2023 we engaged with over 10,000 people. We are looking to use video content to promote our work through social media but also support course participants at home and reach a wider audience. We are looking for a confident and helpful professional that can help us through the process of content creation and deliver a number of short videos. We can start with a trial promotion video and see where it goes. The role is available remotely, after the initial video capture that would be somewhere in Dorset. There could also be potential for creating paid-for content in the future.
What are we looking for?
Experience in developing storyboard, capturing live content, video editing and production, sharing finished video files on YouTube. Good communication skills and able to translate our passion into film. Ability to travel to location venue (reasonable costs reimbursed). You should have your own, or access to appropriate equipment for capturing and editing video.
What difference will you make?
There is a massive opportunity for our videos to reach and support 1000s of people in Dorset, promoted through our extensive network of community groups. Cooking food can bring families and social groups together to spend quality time together reducing isolation, building stronger communication skills and personal resilience. Learning new skills helps to improve someones confidence, and cooking in particular has direct impact on both physical and mental health.
