What will you be doing?
The volunteer will play a key role in designing and developing engaging and effective instructional materials for our educational events, activities, and workshops. Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Events team to understand learning objectives and audience needs for each event or workshop. Design and develop instructional materials, including presentations, handouts, activities, and resources, to support the delivery of educational content. Utilise instructional design principles and best practices to create engaging and interactive learning experiences for participants. Incorporate multimedia elements, such as videos, graphics, and interactive exercises, to enhance the effectiveness of instructional materials, ensuring they align with the learning objectives. Ensure instructional materials are accessible and inclusive, considering diverse learning styles and needs. Review and revise instructional materials based on feedback from team members and participants, ensuring continuous improvement and effectiveness. Collaborate with subject matter experts, guest speakers, and other stakeholders to gather content and expertise for instructional materials. Provide guidance and support to event facilitators and presenters in effectively using instructional materials during events. Stay informed about emerging trends and technologies in instructional design and educational technology and incorporate innovative approaches into instructional materials. Contribute to the development of documentation and guidelines for instructional design processes and best practices within the organisation.
What are we looking for?
Requirements:
Experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or educational content creation. Proficiency in using instructional design tools and software, such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar platforms. Strong creative and analytical skills, with the ability to design effective learning experiences for diverse audiences. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and deadlines. Passion for education and social impact, with a commitment to supporting underrepresented communities. Familiarity with issues related to economic inequality, youth empowerment, and non-profit organisations is a plus.
