The European Space Agency, a beacon in space exploration and innovation, is on the lookout for a talented Project Controller for its Business Planning, Management Support and Coordination Office within the Directorate of Connectivity and Secure Communications (CSC). The CSC plays a pivotal role in fostering advancements in satellite telecommunications and promoting cutting-edge space-based applications.

  • Prepare and manage programmatic aspects of projects, including costs, schedules, and logistics.
  • Maintain work breakdown structures, configuration, and documentation.
  • Implement control procedures to track project progress using established systems.
  • Master's degree in engineering or business administration is required.
  • Professional experience in project control, finance, controlling, or auditing.
  • Knowledge of space systems architecture is a plus.
  • Proficiency in English or French, with additional languages beneficial.

Candidates must be nationals from ESA Member States and will undergo selection tests and a background check.

The European Space Agency is seeking a Project Controller to join the Project Control and Management Support Section within the Business Planning, Management Support and Coordination Office in the Directorate of Connectivity and Secure Communications (CSC). The CSC is responsible for coordinating, shaping and supporting innovation in satellite telecommunications, promoting applications that involve the combined use of space-based systems.

The role entails preparing, developing and maintaining the overall programmatic aspects of the projects, missions and activities. This includes costs, financial matters, work breakdown structures, schedules, logistics, configuration, documentation, progress control and geographical return, as well as general project administration. The Project Controller will also be responsible for implementing and operating planning and control procedures to provide full visibility on the progress of all activities using established procedures and information systems.

Applicants must have a master’s degree in engineering or in business administration. Previous professional experience as a controller of a project or programme, preferably at agency or industry level, is required. Experience in another function in finance, controlling and auditing would be considered a key asset. Some knowledge and/or understanding of space systems architecture would also be considered an asset.

The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset. The Agency may require applicants to undergo selection tests. Successful candidates will be required to undergo basic screening before appointment conducted by an external background screening service.
