The organisation - WaterAid is an international non-profit organization that was set up in 1981 as a response to the UN International Drinking Water & Sanitation decade. The organization was initially established by the UK water industry as a charitable trust at their main office premises in London.

The role - The Capacity Building Officer will lead and support the development, customization, adaptation, and revision of training tools and materials to support the capacity-building activities of the program and will complete the capacity-building database, working closely with the strategic learning team.

Job requirements - Minimum license in economics, institutional politics, political science, social sciences or development planning, development studies from a recognized university, or professional qualifications in civil engineering, water and sanitation, environmental health, or equivalent. At least 3 years of experience in capacity building and targeted training and partnership with the government (national, CTD and STD) and public-private partnerships (PPP). Experience in implementing and strengthening governance, legal frameworks, sectoral and intersectoral coordination, public financing mechanisms, decentralization or related areas. Ability to organize or hold training and design of teaching aids dedicated to well-defined themes. Experience in the WASH sector, and familiarity with the various stakeholders. Experience in partnership management. Experience in managing USAID-funded projects.
