Currently, WaterAid is spearheading the RANO MAHARITRA project, a pivotal initiative funded by USAID focused on promoting gender equality, social inclusion, and accessibility to achieve sustainable WASH services.

WaterAid is an exciting organization that aims to improve access to water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services for rural households. We are currently implementing the RANO MAHARITRA project, a 5-year initiative funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The project aims to overcome gender equality, social inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility (DEIA) barriers to achieve four key objectives.

The role of the Governance Specialist Regional & Community is to coordinate and ensure the quality of governance strengthening efforts at the regional, communal, and community levels. The specialist will guide regional partners in implementing activities at the local level and will work in collaboration with the National Governance Specialist and the Community Engagement Specialist.

Job requirements include a minimum Master's degree in economics, institutional politics, political science, social sciences, or development planning from a recognized university, or professional qualifications in civil engineering, water and sanitation, environmental health, or equivalent. At least 5 years of experience in partnering with the government (national, CTD, and STD) and public-private partnerships (PPP) is required. Experience in planning, developing, and managing programs is also necessary.
