Role Summary:Coordinate community mobilization and empowerment initiatives.Supervise regional partners and ensure quality activity implementation at the local level.Collaborate with governance specialists to enhance community engagement.

Role Requirements:Master's degree in economics, political science, social sciences, development studies or related fields, or professional qualifications in civil engineering, water and sanitation, or environmental health.Minimum 5 years of experience in similar roles within international organizations.Proven experience in strategic planning and management of community programs.Expertise in systems strengthening, governance, legal frameworks, and public financing mechanisms.

WaterAid is an international non-profit organization that has provided clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene to millions of people around the world. We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Community Engagement Specialist to join our team in Antananarivo, Madagascar.

The Role: The Community Engagement Specialist will be responsible for coordinating and ensuring the quality of community mobilization and empowerment efforts. They will supervise regional partners for the implementation of activities at the local level and work in collaboration with the National Governance Specialist and the Regional & Commune Governance Specialist.

Job Requirements: Candidates should have a minimum of a Master's degree in economics, institutional politics, political science, social sciences or development planning, development studies from a recognized university, or professional qualifications in civil engineering, water and sanitation, environmental health, or equivalent. They should have at least 5 years of experience in a similar position within an international structure and at least 5 years of experience in strategic planning, development and management of community-focused programs. Experience in strengthening systems, governance, legal frameworks, sectoral and intersectoral coordination, public financing mechanisms, decentralization or related areas is required.
