What will you be doing?

The Iolanthe Midwifery Trust is a registered charity that aims to promote and improve the care of mothers, babies and families through awarding grants and fellowships in support of midwifery education, practice and research.  Our aim is to reach more midwives and student midwives with our awards programme and need to look to increase and diversity our fundraising streams.   We need your fundraising skills, experiences and knowledge to help us drive this aim forward.  You will sit on the board alongside our midwife and lay trustees and head up our Fundraising sub committee that feeds into the full board.   You will work closely with our Executive Director  You will help us by Taking the lead on the Board to oversee fundraising and to make sure it is carried out in legal, honest and accountable ways Strategically assessing where fundraising fits in with our overall organisational strategy and to work with the Executive Director to ensure effective income generation is achieved Contributing knowledge of fundraising techniques and strategies, understanding results and approving budgets Networking on our behalf to solicit funds Actively championing the Iolanthe Midwifery Trust Encouraging an entrepreneurial culture At The Iolanthe Midwifery Trust we are creating a culture where you can bring your whole self to our work at all levels. What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who has strategic vision, independent judgement and is able to give us the time and commitment to being a trustee and taking on this lead Fundraising role at Board level. We need you to have the skills to help us diversify our income streams and increase our reach and profile, not only within our specialist field but also into the mainstream.  Bring us your excellent networking skills and help us spread the word about what we do.  Use your social media skills across all platforms to show us how to maximise the impact of our content.   In return we will support you with an induction and online training programme.

What difference will you make?

Each year the Iolanthe Midwifery Trust invites applications for a number of financial awards to be granted to midwives and students. We welcome applications that aim to improve care and give benefit to mothers and birthing persons, babies and their families. We would love to see applications from a wide and diverse group of midwives and students. To support this, we offer our Dora Opoku Awards specifically for Black and Brown midwives and students, as well as general awards for all midwives and students. With your help we will be able to reach many more midwives and student midwives.
