What will you be doing?
A DSL will have experience and knowledge around safeguarding children and young people. Additional training paid for by FordHaven, is available. The DSL would respond to concerns about a child or young person at risk and ensure a referral to statutory services. They will have involvment in the recruitment and training of volunteers and other team members alongside the Directors of FordHaven. Also with the Board they will ensure the continuing high standards of Safeguarding at FordHaven. The deputy role will work with and support the Lead, covering tasks in absence when required. There will be application and interview process required for this role, as well as the need for satisfactory references and DBS checks to be successful (DBS cost is covered by FordHaven). This recruitment process takes time to complete to maintain our safeguarding requirements therefore, this is not an immediate role. The application process starts with an informal conversation following your expression of interest.
