What will you be doing?

Sport in Mind Trustee, Fundraising specialist Sport in Mind's mission is to improve the health and well-being of people experiencing mental health problems through sport and physical activity. Our charity delivers supported sport and physical activity sessions to people with mental health problems. Skills Fundraising Trustee. The charity raises funds through public organisations linked to the NHS and other national bodies, corporate partnerships, events and donations. Where The office is based in Reading but most trustee meetings are held virtually. Time Either in or out of office hours Estimate of time needed:Attend Trustee Board meeting once every two months, normally early evening. Review documents and provide advice and guidance in between, approx. 1- 2 days per month on average. What will you be doing? Joining a small team of Trustee Board members you would be the Fundraising specialist to provide expertise in Board discussions and provide advice and support to the operational team as and when needed. This is a growing and developing charity where advice and expertise from specialists is valuable to ensure that optimal processes and systems can be put in place that will enable growth and ensure efficient use of resources. The Fundraising role is key to our team as the charity grows and develops and the person will work on a pro bono basis with other Trustee Board members who each have specialist skills. This is an opportunity to contribute as a Board member and to give some time to a charity that has won awards for the work it is doing in supporting people with mental health problems, through the delivery of sports and physical activity sessions in Berkshire, Bucks, Oxon, Dorset and growing in other neighbouring counties. No set hours are required, though the Trustee is expected to attend Board meetings on a bi-monthly basis (may be remotely) and provide a range of advice and guidance in between.

What are we looking for?

The ideal person will have a Fundraising background ideally from a charity environment including Corporate and other partnerships as well as events. We are looking for an experienced fundraiser for this position.  Sport in Mind is a small growing organisation so the work is akin to working with a small start up organisation. An interest in mental health and sport would be helpful.
