Volunteer Treasurer

What will you be doing?

As Treasurer at Ark, you will work closely with the Chair, Director and other Trustees, playing a key role in:

monitoring our financial standing overseeing our financial risk-management process, reporting on financial health to the board of trustees at regular intervals. liaising with the Director responsible for finance regarding signatories and financial controls ensuring that annual accounts are submitted to all relevant regulators in a timely fashion liaising with external auditors on financial issues ensuring our finances are responsibly managed and invested for the betterment of Ark's work and for the communities we serve

What are we looking for?

We are a friendly and supportive Board of Trustees, pooling our skills, knowledge and expertise. We would love to work with you if you can demonstrate the following:  Skills and experience in one or more areas of non-executive governance and management e.g. strategic planning, business management, financial/accountancy, understanding of HR issues, experience of Trusts or other grant giving bodies, fundraising and legal knowledge. that you are as dedicated to Ark's cause and objectives as we are, and willing to act as the charity’s ambassador to external bodies, charities and companies. you can simply and plainly explain financial information to members of the Board and other stakeholders. you have analytical and evaluation skills, demonstrating good judgement you understand and accept the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship you have good communication and leadership skills
