Volunteer Trustee

What will you be doing?

Our trustees are drawn from the broad youth work and young people’s services field and come from across the region. Including youth work settings, health care, VCSE's, and education. All bringing their own knowledge, skills, and experience to guide the organisation in achieving its goals.    We are currently looking to expand our team of trustees with experience in Accounting / budgeting (in particular those who would consider being our treasurer - we have a finance officer, meaning you wouldn't be responsible for the day to day finance responsibilities) Health care Social Media  If you’re looking for a fulfilling role where you can use your skills, experience, and creativity for real impact this is the opportunity for you.  The board of trustees meets every 3 months alternating between online and in person with the occasional task to complete between meetings.

What are we looking for?

In general we are looking for positive, enthusiastic and committed treasurer who wants to make a difference whilst being part of the team that enables an organisation to make a difference. You will need to have experience of overseeing and presenting budgets and financial reports, liaising with staff and fellow trustees on financial matters, and ensuring accounts are presented in the format required by relevant legislation. As our treasurer you should be comfortable with accounts and with overseeing our finances but you don't have to have been an accountant or have professional accounts experience, you may have experience in other areas which means you have knowledge and experience of setting and maintaining budgets, working with colleagues paid and unpaid, making financial information accessible to others, and an understanding of compliancy.    

What difference will you make?

As a member of our board of trustees you will be supporting and shaping our work, ensuring the youth sector is supported locally, regionally and represented nationally.  As treasurer you would be supporting the staff team directly and the board to keep us on financial track ensuring we can continue to provide the much needed support we offer for many more years to come.
