Role Summary

Role Requirements

  • International recognition as an expert in potato seed production.
  • Minimum 10–15 years of leadership experience in large-scale certified seed production.
  • Expertise in disease management, climate resilience, and varietal optimization.
  • Prior experience in high-performance commercial and R&D environments is a plus.

We provide high-quality farm supplies, tree seedlings, accessible credit, modern agronomic training, and a variety of other agricultural services. Our model typically boosts farmer income and assets by over 35%, permanently enhancing their resilience.

The role: As a Consultant for Tropical Potato Seed Production, you will offer world-class technical expertise and strategic guidance in certified potato seed production. Your focus will be on maximizing productivity, ensuring the highest quality standards, building sustainable team capacity, and embedding cost-efficient production systems. This role supports the department's scale-up ambitions, enabling rapid adoption of global best practices adapted to tropical and sub-tropical environments, and ensuring resilience to climatic and disease-related challenges.

Job requirements: The ideal candidate will be a recognized international expert in potato seed production with significant experience in tropical/sub-tropical systems. You should have a minimum of 10–15 years of proven leadership in large-scale certified seed production, including in high-performance commercial and R&D environments. A strong understanding of disease management, climate resilience, and varietal optimization is crucial.

Benefits: The consultancy will span two consecutive production seasons in 2026, totaling 12 weeks (6 weeks per season), with specific focus periods including planting, vegetative growth, and harvesting & storage assessment. You will provide on-site technical diagnostics, strategic seasonal planning, cost-efficiency advisory, advanced quality assurance guidance, and hands-on coaching.
