Role Summary:

  • Steer the definition, implementation, and monitoring of our ESG strategy.
  • Identify ESG risks and opportunities within the group.
  • Manage ESG regulatory watch, especially concerning CSRD.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement ESG strategies.
  • Oversee progress and performance of ESG initiatives.
  • Handle internal and external ESG reporting and communications.

Role Requirements:

  • Proficiency in English and conversational French.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, environmental science, sustainable development, CSR, or related.
  • Experience in ESG roles and senior leadership interactions.
  • In-depth knowledge of CSRD and ESG legislation in the UK and France.
  • Data-driven with excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and project management abilities.
  • High integrity and strong team orientation.

At SportPursuit we believe that we have an important role to play in terms of our sustainability. As we continue to grow as the Sportscape Group our ESG becomes more involved in everything we do and we want to ensure that we act in a responsible and sustainable way. Our ESG Lead (Sportscape Group) role, a new position at Sportscape, will be instrumental in aiding us to achieve our ESG strategy and goals.

Reporting to our Group CEO this, predominantly self serving role will contribute to our ESG strategy definition, implementation and monitoring against performance KPIs. Relying on in-depth ESG culture and best practice knowledge you will manage internal and external communication in particular in consistency with the latest CSRD requirements.

Your role includes but is not limited to: Identifying and assessing ESG risks and opportunities for the Sportscape business (both for SportPursuit and Private Sport Shop), Managing ESG regulatory watch, in particular regarding CSRD, Contributing to ESG strategy definition through interactions with management team, exec team and business stakeholders, Implementing ESG group strategy in coordination with all internal and external stakeholders, Monitoring ESG strategy implementation progress and ESG corporate performance, Managing internal and external ESG reporting and communication.

To be successful in this role you will be or will have: A fluent English speaker with very strong conversational French, A minimum Bachelor degree in areas of business, environmental science, sustainable development, CSR or a related field, Experience interacting with senior leaders and stakeholders in an ESG related role, A deep understanding of corporate reporting standards and requirements - particularly CSRD requirements, An understanding of ESG legislation in both UK and France, Data driven, bring a mindset along with the ability to be hands on when needed, Highly numerate and logical - able to interpret results and suggest next steps, A high level experience of using Microsoft Excel to view and manipulate data (eg Pivot Tables), Excellent organisation and planning skills with the ability to prioritise and if needed to manage projects, High level of integrity with strong sense of team orientation.
