What will you be doing?

Overview The IYF Headquarters Coordination Division (IYFHCD) Team is responsible for providing strategic leadership, guidance and support to the IYF Regional Administrations (RAs) and to the IYF Country Teams (IYFCTs) led by the IYF Representatives (IYFRs) on the implementation of IYF’s strategic priorities and in meeting their responsibilities under the IYF vision and mission. HCD provide additional professional capacity for strengthening the support of Regional Teams, the Representatives and IYFCTs. The Coordination Adviser reports to the Director of the Headquarters Coordination Division who provides overall strategic direction, guidance and oversight. The Adviser is responsible for provide support and technical advice in implementing IYF coordination priorities as it pertains to the IYF’s operational and programme activities. She will work to enhance the coherence of the IYF’s work, to facilitate the mobilization of joint actions, and strengthen the capacity of the HCD team to coordinate and plan an integrated response to the organizational priorities. Responsibilities (JD attached) • Provide technical advice, coordination and effective oversight to established coordination activities both in HQ and at the field level. • Coordinate all activities emanating from the HCD leadership, set priorities, supervise and ensure follow-up and feedback. • Provide direction and guidance on the transition from ad-hoc support models to advanced, sustainable and modern in-house solutions. • Strengthen the HCD’s information and reporting systems, ensuring efficient flows of information between the division and the wider teams and bureaux. • Support HCD in developing and implementing joint responses to operational and programme priorities. • Identify and recommend actions for enhancing inter-agency coordination and initiate their implementation as requested by HCD leadership. • Identify, analyze and prioritize capacity needs for HCD coordination support; channel appropriate requests for HCD support to RAs/IYFCTs. • Enable the Division and other IYF personnel working on Coordination to be more effective by introducing continuous improvement cycles for key coordination business processes. • Lead the development of strategic coordination dialogues with central and regional units to strengthen/establish concrete relations to further leverage the respective units’ resources, expertise and mandates.

What are we looking for?

Experience Experience and results preferred at national level preferred in a management role, project, programme, international relations, advocacy, development, youth issues, sport, women empowerment, youth-led organizations or another relevant field.
