WHO WE ARE

We are a leading mental health charity on a mission to support Londoners with mental health challenges to find and remain in good employment as part of their mental health recovery journey. We have been changing lives for almost 30 years and we are currently keenly awaiting the outcome of several significant opportunities that will substantially extend our service delivery.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Should we be successful, we need to swiftly recruit a Head of Employment Services to lead our life-changing employment support programmes designed to help individuals struggling with their mental health into rewarding work.

Your role will be to strategically lead and oversee all of Twining’s employment services across London (including Individual Placement and Support (IPS) and Employment Advisors (EAs) in Talking Therapies programmes), ensuring service leads deliver high-quality, innovative programmes to support clients with mental health conditions into work. You will manage commissioned projects and ensure operational excellence, performance against targets, continuous improvement, best practice, and stakeholder relationships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·      To lead a large staff team across 8 London boroughs to achieve and exceed performance targets and operational standards.

·      Oversee core services including IPS in Primary Care, IPS in SMI and Employment Advisors in Talking Therapies.

·      Line management of 4 Service Leads.

·      Champion a person-centred, outcomes-focused culture of excellence and innovation.

·      Ensure services meet quality assurance standards including high IPS Fidelity.

·      Monitor and evaluate team/individual performance, taking action to address issues.

·      Develop partnerships and relationships with commissioners, health providers, employers.

·      Achieve results within agreed budgets and identify efficiencies.

·      Prepare and distribute reports as required.

·      Promote Twining’s employment services and successes.

·      Lead effective internal and external communications.

·      Recruit, train, develop and performance manage high calibre staff.

·      Ensure health and safety responsibilities are fulfilled.

·      Drive continuous quality improvement and staff training.

·      Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, policies.

·      Uphold brand/service standards and reputation.

·      Provide and receive regular supervision.

·      Work flexibly within the Senior Leadership Team.

·      Maintain professional knowledge and development.

·      Uphold Twining mission, vision, and values.

·      Contribute to Twining’s objectives, performance, and strategy.

·      Perform other duties as required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

To succeed you will bring strong and established leadership skills, significant experience in managing complex employment support services, alongside expertise in supporting people with mental health needs. You will be an excellent communicator and relationship-builder able to engage stakeholders. You will be a strong people manager with proven experience in leading and developing a team.

This influential role requires sharp analytical abilities, strategic vision, and a dynamic, flexible and adaptable approach. It also requires excellent communication and listening skills. You will also bring demonstrable experience of effective safeguarding in operations.
