What will you be doing?

StartYoungUK is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our Board of Trustees. As a trustee, you will play a key role in guiding and supporting the organization's strategic direction, governance, and sustainability. Responsibilities:

Provide strategic leadership and oversight to ensure the organization achieves its mission of empowering children from socioeconomically disadvantaged areas. Attend board meetings and actively participate in discussions and decision-making processes. Contribute expertise, insights, and networks to help advance StartYoungUK's initiatives and programs focused on providing essential resources, educational support, mentorship, and opportunities for growth to children aged 5-18. Act as an ambassador for the organization, representing its interests to stakeholders, partners, and the wider community. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as adherence to best governance practices. Support fundraising efforts and financial sustainability initiatives as appropriate.

  Qualifications:

Passion for StartYoungUK's mission and commitment to empowering children from socioeconomically disadvantaged areas. Previous experience serving on nonprofit boards or relevant leadership roles Strong strategic thinking and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and board members. Knowledge of fundraising, financial management, or legal matters is desirable but not essential.
