What will you be doing?
We're seeking committed individuals from diverse backgrounds to serve as trustees. Your role will involve shaping our mission, reviewing budgets, and ensuring the organisation's success. Commitment includes a two-hour meeting every six weeks, with additional responsibilities such as reading board papers and attending relevant meetings. If you're passionate about community impact, ready to contribute your skills, and can commit the time, we'd love to hear from you. Please apply by 19 April 2024 to be part of our dedicated team.
What are we looking for?
Personal skills and qualities:
3 or more years in support work similar to the work that our charity does - supporting local older people and vulnerable adults. 3 or more years experience exhibiting the ability to think creatively and strategically, exercising good, independent judgement. 3 or more years experience as a board member providing candid and constructive criticism, advice, comments, and praise. Commitment to promoting equality and diversity.
Commitment:
Participate fully in a trustee induction to develop a good understanding of how the charity operates and the services it provides. Read reports and prepare for Board meetings accordingly. Attend board meetings which last approximately 2 hours every 2 months. Attend other occasional meetings related to Ham & Petersham SOS. Agree to the charity carrying out an enhanced DBS check when required. There may be additional duties that arise from time to time.
If you are passionate about making a positive impact in your community and possess the skills and commitment we are looking for, please submit your application. Diversity on the board is important to us, and we welcome applications from candidates from all backgrounds.
What difference will you make?
Your applied skillset will allow us to continue to provide transport, weekly activities, monthly outings and practical help.
