What will you be doing?
The Treasurer is responsible for the finanial management of Ealing Mediation Service. The post holder will be a Managing Trustee who will both be a member of the Board of Trustees and the small group of trustees who constitute the Management Group. We need someone who is able to flexibly devote approximately 16 hours per month to the role, working mainly from home, but attending some face-to-face meetings in Ealing.
What are we looking for?
We like our trustees to have an affinity with our area of London and to understand something of the demographic of the area. This means that most trustees live or work in West or North West London. Many trustees join us with no previous experience of the charity sector or of the role of trustee but are usually attracted by wanting to contribute their time and expertise freely to the local community. The additional expectation we have of managing trustees is that they are able to devote more time and take on more responsibilities to enable us to operate as a volunteer-led charity. For this role, we are looking for someone who has experience of financial reporting, forecasting and business planning. You are likely to be well organised, proactive and have good communication skills. We need someone who can devote sufficient time to the role to help us continue to deliver an effective volunteer-led service. We think this probably can be achieved in about 16 hours a month, although this might not be evenly distributed. The scheduling of time will be flexible.

As part of our board and management group you will support and shape our work and strategic direction. Not only do we need someone to keep us on track financially and keep us viable, but even more significantly, we are looking for someone to help us formulate our vision for the future.
