What will you be doing?
We have an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in – or a passion for – social media to help create and deliver engaging and informative content across a range of platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn. Your role will be to highlight the life-changing services Home-Start Northampton provides to local families in need, while encouraging prospective volunteers and supporters to get involved by fundraising or donating time and goods. You'll raise awareness of the individual and groups support services, generate interest and excitement for our fundraising events and activities, and engage with prospective and current volunteers to highlight and support their role within the charity. You'll mostly work autonomously but with the the full support of a forward-thinking Board of Trustees, and under the guidance of a Trustee who is solely responsible for marketing and communications - and they are all keen to make 2024 the year that Home-Start Northampton takes its marketing and comms activity to the next level!
What are we looking for?
Who we’re looking for: - Experience of using – or a demonstrable passion for – Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn - Strong writing skills and a creative approach to communications - Motivated to work independently, in your own time - Professional and considerate when communicating online - Ability to work to Home-Start Northampton’s Code of Conduct - Basic photography or videography skills would be a bonus, but is not essential
What difference will you make?
Home-Start believes that all children need a happy and secure childhood, and that parents play the key role in giving their children a good start in life, helping them to achieve their full potential. Through the offer of support, friendship and practical help to parents with young children, we support parents to grow in confidence, strengthen their relationships with their children and widen their links within the local community. We have helped more than 400 families since we were formed in 1982 - and we continue to grow year on year. Our trained volunteers' support is informal, friendly, and confidential; delivered through carefully selected and prepared volunteers, who are parents themselves. Being a part of the Home-Start Northampton team means making an active difference in a child's early years. You will be instrumental in ensuring we get the right support at the right time, and that other agencies and partners are aware of the services we provide. Your role will play a vital part in ensuring Home-Start Northampton is front of mind for young families needing an extra hand at a difficult time.
