What will you be doing?

Lead the Board and deliver the development, implementation and achievement of the Community Bank’s mission and strategic and tactical objectives, using personal  financial know-how, commercial and Chair experience, directors, volunteers and staff. Ensure an appropriate governance/organisation structure is in place with clear accountabilities and competencies at Board level  Undertake the role of ambassador for the St Albans Community Bank, liaising with key trade and regulatory bodies and attending relevant external events to promote and raise the profile of the SACB and to pursue new business opportunities Accountable for ensuring that, via the Board, the identification and the effective management of all risks (eg data protection, H&S, AML) are in place

What are we looking for?

Ability to both lead a team of professionals, mainly volunteers, and to work as part of a team Strategic thinking – looking ahead, experience of planning and implementing change Demonstrate a “problem solving, approach, bringing and encouraging others’ solutions Excellent interpersonal skills including confident communication and the ability to listen Financial acumen & business knowledge –proficient in financial statements, data interpretation, interest rate market insights, and consumer credit analysis for strategic decision-making and an overall understanding of marketing Understand and able to apply experience and knowledge of financial services sector legislation and regulations, including those relating to Credit Unions Proficient at Chairing Meetings Ability to multi-task and make decisions Understands how to operate in and bring creative ideas where budgets are limited Experience of good practice operational and business processes Proficient in using IT systems eg Microsoft office, Excel etc
