What will you be doing?
The ASO aims to develop an understanding of obesity through the pursuit of excellence in research and education, the facilitation of contact between individuals and organisations, and the promotion of action to prevent and treat obesity. We are looking for individuals with experience of governance, strategic decision making and/or finance and/or legal skills, good communication skills and an understanding of third sector workplace and/or previous experience as a trustee
What are we looking for?
Trustees should have the following skills and experience:
Experience of governance, strategic decision making and/or finance and/or legal skills. Good communication skills. An understanding of third sector workplace and/or previous experience as a Trustee and/or an understanding of working on committees where governance is an integral role. A commitment to ASO and passionate about its cause. A willingness to devote the necessary time and effort and engage with and respond to ASO communications in a timely manner. Strategic vision. Good, independent judgement. An ability to think creatively. A willingness to speak their mind and to hear and consider the opinions of others. An understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities, and liabilities of trusteeship. An ability to work effectively as a member of a team. Have a clear understanding of the Charity Commission guidance and recommendations.
