What will you be doing?
At the Oscar Montgomery Environmental Foundation (omef) our mission is to inspire action and preserve the precious marine ecosystems that our planet’s oceans hold. Created in memory of the late Oscar Montgomery we are passionate and dedicated to creating a legacy and engaging our community. We’re looking for a volunteer with experience in managing social media channels and who ideally shares a similar passion for environmental issues to manage our social media postings. We are looking to grow our reach and be able to better engage our supportive community, as we look to develop the charity. We are a small but dedicated team, and are focused on growing further in time. You will work remotely but with in person meetings when required to suit your availability. We hope that you will be able to contribute 4 hours each week to suit your availability, with the primary focus of this role is to grow our audience, engage with stakeholders, and drive greater awareness of omef's mission and impact. Key Responsibilities: 1. Content Creation: Design and curate captivating visual content using platforms like Canva. 3. Scheduling Posts: Planning and scheduling posts to maintain a consistent online presence. 4. Community Engagement: Proactively engage with followers and key stakeholders through comments, likes, shares, and direct messaging to build meaningful relationships and foster a sense of community. 5. Audience Growth: Implement strategies to increase omef's social media following and reach. Identify opportunities for partnerships, collaborations, and influencer engagement to expand our audience. 6. Analytics and Insights: Regularly track and analyse social media performance using analytics tools. Provide reports on key metrics, identify areas of improvement, and make data-driven recommendations. 7. Updating our website, so ideally candidate would have experience with wordpress

Previous experience of using social media scheduling tools Proficiency in crafting compelling and engaging stories, writing posts, editing and resizing images An interest in marine environmental issues Good organisational skills and attention to detail Good written and communication skills To bring fresh ideas and perspective to how we engage with the community. Happy carrying out tasks independently and as part of a team Have access to a computer and the internet at home
