- Role Summary:
- Assist the delivery team in Grant Management and Grant Distribution services.
- Conduct due diligence and draft grant agreements.
- Handle payment processes.
- Manage a portfolio of early-stage groups, understanding their needs and providing practical support.
- Ensure contracts are adhered to and assist with budgeting and financial decision-making.

The Social Change Nest CIC (SCN) is a team of experts in creating social impact using social innovation, peer networks, community organising, collaboration and systemic and organisational change approaches. We aim to remove the structural barriers for social movements and networks for change, providing a way for agile, strategic and effective money management for them through fiscal hosting. Our service offers include fiscal hosting, grant management, grant distribution and fund management. We currently support over 300 community groups across the UK and abroad.
The role of Programmes Assistant involves working closely with the delivery team to provide support across services, primarily Grant Management and Grant Distribution. You will help complete due diligence, draft grant agreements and make payments. This role also involves supporting a portfolio of early-stage groups under the Grant Management service, ensuring we understand their needs, finding practical solutions to support them to achieve their goals, ensuring contracts are delivered in line with agreements, supporting them with budgeting, and advising where financial decisions need to be made.
Job requirements include exceptional organisational skills, understanding of managing budgets, exceptional attention to detail, ability to manage various tasks at the same time, and capable of managing time effectively. Desirable experience includes supporting or working at startups, early-stage ventures, or growing community groups, experience of managing projects and emerging risks, and an understanding of grant giving and granting processes.

The role will be full-time (37.5 hours/week) permanent contract and we are open to exploring flexible working arrangements. You must be based inside the UK. We have an office in Kings Cross, London which London-based staff are in 3 times a week, but if you are based out of London you will be home based. Occasional but limited UK or European travel will be required (by arrangement). You must have the right to work in the UK independently, as we are unable to provide visa sponsorship.
