The Academic division is responsible for an impressive array of scholarly publications under both the Bloomsbury banner and other historic imprints.

Role Summary

  • Join the Academic and Professional Division as an Artworker.
  • Create and modify cover artwork for a diverse portfolio of academic subjects.
  • Utilize Adobe Creative Suite to produce artwork for reprints, eBooks, and print-on-demand titles.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to update and finalize cover designs.

  • Expertise in InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Quick and accurate work processing capabilities.
  • A keen eye for detail and design aesthetics.

Bloomsbury has offices in London, New York, New Delhi, Oxford and Sydney. Within Bloomsbury’s Academic division, it publishes under Bloomsbury, as well as under a number of prestigious and historic imprint names.

The Role - Artworker, Production Academic & Professional We are looking for an Artworker to join our busy Academic and Professional Division, which publishes across a range of subjects including Philosophy, Education, Theology, Linguistics, History, Law, Drama, Film and Media, and Fashion. This would be an excellent job for someone with artworking skills, keen to enter the book publishing industry within the design environment. The role involves correcting and converting existing cover files and generating final cover artwork (using Adobe CS) for reprints, eBooks and our print-on-demand programme. You will also liaise with editorial and production colleagues, and external suppliers on cover updates, proofs, and schedules.

Job Requirements The ideal candidate should have proven technical expertise (InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat), excellent organizational and time-management skills, the ability to process a large volume of work quickly and accurately, and a keen eye for detail.
