The Victoria and Albert Museum, the world-renowned institution of art, design, and performance, is looking for a Director of Design, Estate and Public Programme to guide its dynamic and diverse team. This role is pivotal in shaping the visitor experience by integrating innovative design and sustainable practices across the V&A's multiple sites, ensuring the museum continues to inspire creativity on a global scale.
Role Summary:
- Lead a multidisciplinary team across Estate, Projects, Design, Exhibitions, and Sustainability departments.
- Collaborate with top-tier architects, designers, and consultants to achieve imaginative and high-quality physical interventions.
- Strategically direct the planning, development, and execution of design and building initiatives.

The Director of Design, Estate and Public Programme leads a large multi-disciplinary team comprising the Estate, Projects, Design, Exhibitions and Sustainability departments, to deliver an outstanding and unique visitor experience across all of our sites, and connecting audiences with a world inspired by creativity.
Working with the best established and emerging architects, designers, engineers and expert consultants, you will ensure that all of the V&A’s physical interventions are ambitious, imaginative and of the highest design quality.
We are seeking an inspirational leader who combines a design sensibility with the ability to deliver complex programmes; someone who will set a high bar for strategic leadership in the planning, development and implementation of all design and building led initiatives.
