Position Purpose Join us in a pivotal role in the Risk Product Oversight and Excellence Team, within ESG Research and Methodology, where you'll contribute to the advancement, upkeep, and enrichment of Sustainalytics’ risk product suite, with a focus on our flagship ESG Risk Ratings product. This role offers the chance to pioneer innovative solutions and collaborate within a team that fosters entrepreneurial thinking and drives enhancements in our product line. You'll work closely with product managers, research teams and product development experts to transform product concepts into market-ready offerings. Additionally, you'll be responsible for maintaining existing product methodologies and crafting methodology-related documents and publications.
Key Responsibilities Conceptualizing and scoping of product methodologies for Sustainalytics’ Risk offering; Working with quantitative oriented colleagues on testing internal and external validity of methodological solutions including change/impact analyses and portfolio performance analyses; Presenting ideas and results to our senior leadership team; Collaborating with product managers, product developers, IT and research analysts on implementing new methodologies or methodological changes; Collaborating with product managers and other internal stakeholders on creating methodology documentation and support material for client relations team; Providing support to product managers as well as research analysts for any methodology related questions and preparing/coordinating the preparation of support materials and analyses. Writing and/or coordinating methodology-related thought leadership pieces; Supporting and leading various initiatives of the Risk Product Oversight and Excellence Team meant to enhance oversight of ESG Risk Rating outcomes across Sustainalytics’ coverage universe of over 10,000 issuers, such as developing tools to compare company outcomes and identify outliers or conducting regular analyses of ratings outcomes to be presented to senior members of ESG Research and Methodology.
Competencies & Qualifications Masters degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics or related sciences; 5-7 years of relevant work experience; ESG Research or analysis experience will be considered an asset; Deep knowledge of ESG investment approaches/strong understanding of financial markets, products and research methodologies; Structured thinker with strong analytical and conceptual capabilities; Creativity and problem solving that can be applied in real-life applications; Strong quantitative skills including solid statistical / econometric grounding; Skilled user of relevant software, in particular Excel; Python programming skills and statistical software user skills considered an asset; Excellent communication and writing skills; Organizational and project management skills; Ability to work independently and within a strong team environment; General leadership skills; embracing responsibility/accountability.
