- Role Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in distributed applications and services.
- Proficiency in high availability, performance, and security principles.
- Strong proficiency in Python, Scala/Java, or other modern programming languages.
- Experience with DevOps, SQL, NoSQL databases.
- Adaptability and a lean agile mindset.
- Understanding of API-first approaches and Big Data applications is beneficial.
- Experience with streaming processing and public cloud infrastructure is a plus.
- Knowledge in the subscriptions and payments domain is desirable.

- Server-side programming in Python and Scala.
- Employing polyglot persistence strategies.
- Pioneering an API-first approach, treating APIs as products.
- Creating distributed, scalable environments for real-life Big Data applications.
- Contributing to continuous delivery practices.

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to take our subscription platform to the next level. This means playing a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining subscriptions and payment systems. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring accurate and efficient subscription models within our organisation. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, software engineers, analysts, and payment service providers, to enhance our billing processes and drive revenue growth and cost savings.
Your Experience
Must have:
- 8+ years of experience in building distributed applications and services
- Understanding of high availability, high performance, and high security and where each needs to be applied
- Strong knowledge of Python or Scala/Java or any other modern language, with a willingness to work with Python
- DevOps, SQL and NoSQL
- Be inspired by the API-first approach
- Lean agile mindset; ability to adapt to changes quickly and comfortably, and learn from failures and successes.
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of Streaming processing and public cloud infrastructure
- Experience with subscriptions and payments domain
