Role Summary:

  • Contribute to the growth of Bloomsbury General, a division dedicated to adult consumer non-fiction.
  • Manage editorial processes and collaborate with high-profile individuals.
  • Ensure projects are completed efficiently, maintaining Bloomsbury's high standards.

Role Requirements:

  • Prior editorial experience, particularly in commercial Non-Fiction.
  • Exceptional copyediting skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Understanding of popular culture trends.
  • Proficiency with Biblio and other publishing systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Interest in and ability to perform structural- and line-editing.
  • Independent problem-solving and excellent organizational skills.

Bloomsbury has offices in London, New York, New Delhi, Oxford and Sydney. Within Bloomsbury’s Academic division, it publishes under Bloomsbury, as well as under a number of prestigious and historic imprint names.

The Role - Non-Fiction Editor, Bloomsbury General We are looking for a Non-Fiction Editor to join Bloomsbury General, the exciting new division formed a year ago under the Bloomsbury Adult Consumer umbrella. The perfect candidate will have a background in commercial Non-Fiction, have excellent organisational and communication skills, a genuine interest in popular culture, promising editing skills, an understanding of working with people in the public eye and the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

Job Requirements Previous editorial experience, exceptional copyediting ability and attention to detail, understanding of trends and developments in popular culture, knowledge of Biblio and other publishing systems, excellent written and verbal communication skills, a growing interest in structural- and line-editing, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently, great organisational skills to keep concurrent projects running on track.
