Role Summary
- Execute local purchasing functions and source operational goods and services for the farmers and office teams.

One Acre Fund, founded in 2006, is dedicated to equipping 5.5 million smallholder farmers across nine countries in Africa to enhance farm productivity. We provide high-quality farm supplies, tree seedlings, accessible credit, modern agronomic training, and a variety of other agricultural services. Our Rwanda program, known locally as Tubura, is our largest and was established in 2007. We employ over 3,000 staff across all four provinces of Rwanda and Kigali, serving more than 2.8 million farmers. We collaborate closely with the government to bolster national food security efforts and support agri-SMEs by providing a market for high-impact crops like coffee, avocado, and chili.
The role: As a Procurement Intern, you will be responsible for executing local purchasing functions by sourcing operational goods and services from suppliers for One Acre Fund farmers and office teams. This includes conducting market research, executing requests for quotations, selecting suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
Job requirements: Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in procurement, supply chain, logistics, or a related field. Basic work experience in procurement or related fields is required, along with strong oral and written communication skills and demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
Benefits: Interns receive a reasonable stipend, and those based in rural areas will receive assistance in finding suitable housing.
