Role Summary:
- Lead Product Design for the Marketplace pillar, coordinating multiple product pods.
- Manage and mentor a team of designers within the Marketplace, driving the vision and strategy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to guide product direction and influence company-wide initiatives.
- Champion high-quality design solutions that have a positive impact on users and the business.
- Encourage a team environment filled with curiosity, openness, and a bias for action.
Role Requirements:
- At least 6 years of experience in design leadership.
- Proven track record of leading high-performing product design teams in dynamic settings.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- A history of driving large-scale visioning work with significant outcomes.
- Experience with two-sided marketplaces and scaling teams is a plus.

About the Design Team
We’re a tight-knit and highly-collaborative team of Product Designers, Content Designers, Researchers, and Design Ops working closely with cross-functional partners to envision and deliver experiences that help people care for their home and empower small businesses nationwide to grow. We collaborate regularly through design critiques, work sessions, and presentations to inspire and influence the direction of the product and company as a whole.
Responsibilities
- Lead Product Design across the Marketplace pillar, which consists of multiple cross-functional product pods. Directly manage the designers across Marketplace and operate as a lead for the pillar.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to envision, strategize, and guide the product direction.
- Initiate and lead design visioning work at the team and company level. Empower design to create a northstar that guides product and experience decisions.
- Empower designers to consistently deliver high-quality design solutions that positively impact our users and the business
- Cultivate a positive team culture of openness, curiosity, and bias for action
What you’ll need

- 6+ years of experience in design leadership
- Experience leading high-performing product design teams in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills; comfortable engaging with stakeholders, including executive teams
- Ability to influence and lead change across the organization
- Track record of effectively driving large-scale visioning work
Bonus points if you have
- Experience working on two-sided marketplaces
- Experience scaling teams and managing managers

For candidates living in San Francisco / Bay Area, New York City, or Seattle metros, the expected salary range for the role is currently $283,500 - $347,000 . Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
For candidates living in all other US locations, the expected salary range for this role is currently $241,000 - $295,000 Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
