Role Summary:

  • Oversee and ensure the accuracy of Beam's accounts receivables.
  • Conduct thorough bank and customer account reconciliations.
  • Meet monthly cash collection targets to support organizational growth.
  • Prepare and issue precise invoices and financial reports.
  • Act as a primary contact for the sales & partnerships team, managing financial transactions in Xero.
  • Support financial planning, analysis, and ad-hoc projects.

Role Requirements:

  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in finance/accounting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and technical accounting proficiency.
  • Strong communication skills with experience in month-end and audit processes.
  • Experience with Xero and Pleo is ideal, as is experience in a fast-paced accounts receivable role.

About the Role:

We're looking for a Credit Controller to join our growing finance function. We’re looking to hire someone on a permanent basis to support Beam during a period of incredible growth.

Your key responsibility will be ensuring the completeness and accuracy of Beam’s revenue and managing cash collection so that our Partnerships team can continue to grow our customer base in commissioning Beam to support local communities.

On top of this, you will work directly with the Finance Lead to prepare for our first year audit in 2025.


Responsibilities:

Management of Beam up Ltd's accounts receivables:

  • Performing detailed bank and customer account reconciliations to ensure accurate and up-to-date financial records

  • Working diligently to achieve monthly cash collection targets, contributing to the financial stability and growth of the organisation

  • Preparing and submitting invoices and financial reports to customers catering to their specific requirements and providing valuable insights into their financial data

  • Taking responsibility for maintaining and updating client records, ensuring that all relevant information is accurately recorded and readily accessible for future reference

  • Key point of contract for the sales & partnerships team

Management of Beam Up Ltd’s accounts in Xero:

  • Executing daily downloads directly from the bank and allocating payments accurately, maintaining the integrity and completeness of financial transactions

  • Prepare journal entries to ensure our accounts are prepared on an accrual basis

  • Assist in the monthly close process, adhering to GAAP

Wider Finance Tasks: 

  • Support financial planning, analysis and various ad hoc projects

  • Support non-finance colleagues with financial inquiries and participate in ad hoc projects

You'll Need: 

  • Professional accounting qualification ACA/ACCA/CIMA with a minimum of 3 years' finance/accounting experience.

  • Proficient in technical accounting and expert-level skills in Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent communication skills and a proven track record with month-end and audit processes

  • Flexible, independent work style with a strong problem-solving drive and a knack for adapting to changing priorities

  • Ideal: knowledge of Xero (accounts payable and bank reconciliation, sales invoicing and journal inputting) and ideally Pleo

  • Ideal: experience in an accounts receivable role in a fast-paced environment
