The British Museum is seeking a Scholarly Communications and Systems Librarian to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Bloomsbury.
The Role: As the Scholarly Communications and Systems Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the Museum library collections and facilitating access for staff and external users. You will oversee library systems including the development of the library management system, access to e-platforms and resources, and research repositories for publications and data. You will also lead Open Access and Data Management compliance, providing training and support for Museum departments.
Job Requirements: You should have a degree in librarianship or information management that is accredited by CILIP, or a degree in any subject followed by an accredited postgraduate qualification in information management. Experience of working in a large specialist library or heritage research collection is essential, as is experience of supporting a library management system or similar product. You should have experience of cataloguing to RDA/AACR2 and MARC standards on a major library management system, and experience of working in a research-driven specialist or academic library environment. Excellent time management and ability to prioritise workloads are also required.
