Role Requirements:Proven experience in developing others within your subject specialty.Deep knowledge of subject-specific pedagogy and Teachers’ Standards.Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with leadership experience in schools.Minimum two years’ experience mentoring and coaching new teachers.Familiarity with ITT Core Content Framework and the Early Career Framework.

The role of Development Lead - Subject (SDLs) involves working on our Training Programme and possibly other Teach First programmes such as ECF and SCITT. As an SDL, you will deliver training to our teachers, largely online, to support their progress. You will use your expertise as a teacher and a subject specialist to contribute to our learning design across programmes. You will work with a portfolio of trainees to develop their subject knowledge and subject-specific pedagogy. You will collaborate with other support roles, to see trainees grow into leaders, committed to making a difference to educational inequality.
We are looking for someone with experience of developing others within the context of your subject specialism. You should be a subject matter expert, with exemplary knowledge of the pedagogy underpinning your subject specialism. You should have QTS (or equivalent) and have been a school leader. Your knowledge of the Teachers’ Standards (2012), the Initial Teacher Training (ITT) Core Content Framework and the Early Career Framework should be excellent. You should have developed, mentored and coached inexperienced teachers within a training route for at least two years e.g. PGCE, Schools Direct, Teach First etc.
