Role Summary

  • Manage a portfolio of grants throughout their full life-cycle in the Cells, Systems and Tools team within the Research Funding department.
  • Carry out due diligence, coordinate expert reviews and funding committees, providing feedback, making awards, and responding to queries.
  • Ensure fair, efficient, and timely handling of applications, supporting world-class research through clear, inclusive processes.

Role Requirements

  • Experiences in research environments and understanding of funding processes.
  • Ability to manage complex priorities, with excellent communication and analytical skills, attention to detail.
  • A degree in cell biology, developmental biology, or physiology is necessary.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills are also required.

The role: As a Funding Manager in the Cells, Systems and Tools team within our Research Funding department, you will manage a portfolio of grants across their full lifecycle. This includes carrying out due diligence, coordinating expert reviews and funding advisory committees, providing clear written feedback, making awards, and responding to queries. This role ensures that applications are handled fairly, efficiently, and on time, supporting world-class research through inclusive, transparent processes.

Job requirements: The ideal candidate will have experience in the research environment, a strong understanding of funding processes, and the ability to manage complex priorities confidently. Essential skills include strong communication, analytical abilities, and attention to detail. You should be organized, adaptable, and possess excellent stakeholder management skills. A degree in a relevant science subject such as cell biology, developmental biology, or physiology is required.
