We're looking for a dynamic individual, who is passionate about sustainability, to join our Workspaces team as a Community Lead and build meaningful relationships with our climate tech members.

A typical day for this new role could include facilitating a founders breakfast, running a couple of tours of our 40,000 sqft workspace, having spontaneous chats with the ecosystem, updating internal comms, running polls around what people think about current affairs or upcoming events and being available and sociable in the cafe - our entry point and place to socialise.

We run a vibrant workspace in the iconic County Hall, host to an ever-growing community of sustainable businesses. Our unique spaces and flexible memberships are designed to inspire creativity and collaboration in a purpose-driven environment. Members have access to, and are supported by, the wider Sustainable Ventures team; with expertise in sustainability, venture capital and entrepreneurship. At the heart of our work lies a deep passion for building communities and nurturing an environment that is not only welcoming, but also open, transparent, curious, collaborative, challenging, results-driven, and most importantly, fun!

The role

You’ll meet with upcoming start-ups, engaging and connecting members with colleagues and each other, befriending everyone in the ecosystem, building your own programme of exciting events and building relationships with some of the most exciting innovators and biggest thought leaders (e.g. youth activists, large VC firms, disruptive leaders, investors, cross-parliamentary climate groups, fintech software developers, NGOs, industry leaders & founders).

Your key responsibilities:

  • Welcoming all members to the community, ensuring a seamless and engaging onboarding and offboarding process for all members.
  • Being the go-to person for members, making sure their questions are answered and that their experiences meet expectations.
  • Facilitating connections and collaboration between members, encouraging them to work together and share ideas - this is becoming even more important as our ecosystem grows. This involves identifying common interests and goals, and assisting members in finding ways to collaborate.
  • Developing and executing community engagement strategies: Staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, continuously seeking innovative ways to enhance the member experience. Striving to achieve the highest levels of member satisfaction and engagement.
  • Collaborating with the wider team, to organise and run a variety of exciting ecosystem events. Assisting in managing and hosting external meetings and events, ensuring a great experience for all attendees. Taking charge of our weekly Members events. Maintaining accurate records of event expenses and ensuring they align with the budget.
  • Running membership tours, for potential new members.
  • Encouraging members to use the Workspaces bar, to become the number one stop for after work drinks and events!

About Sustainable Ventures

We’re Europe’s largest ecosystem of climate tech startups. Following our recent expansion of our Central London headquarters, we’re focused on our mission to develop 1000 new businesses by 2025, and expand our operations across UK regions.

Our impact on the planet’s climate and its natural resources is being felt more often and by more people than ever before. It is clear that significant changes must be made to achieve the targets set by the IPCC and reach Net Zero by 2050. This presents the world’s biggest challenge and it is something that SV has been addressing since 2011. We believe in the power of commercial innovation to address the twin challenges of climate change and resource scarcity.
