Volunteer Social Media Officer

What will you be doing?

We are looking for a person to take control of the extremely important social media outreach work for our charity. This will involve our presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok, and will involve the management of not only posts, but video and content creation. The successful applicant will be part of the committee running the charity and will report to the Board of Trustees who will support the applicant in their role, providing tasks and feedback. No time-wasters please. We spend a lot of time setting up new committee members with email addresses and going through personnel checks for security and safety. This is a long-term position. If you are likely to be looking to move on in a month or so for work or other commitments, please look for a short-term position.

What are we looking for?

The volunteer should have good IT skills with a track record of good social media content management. They should also be compassionate and have an interest in the welfare and safety of people and animals. Social media content must always be mindful of the need for good public relations and so an understanding of PR basics is preferred.

What difference will you make?

The charity depends on its social media presence and until now, it has struggled to maintain this due to availability of the team. Too many people have suffered because they did not know the charity exists, so by helping us reach out, the social media officer will have a significant impact on the rescue of survivors of abuse. The charity is in a growth phase and is set to experience some amazing developments in 2024, so the successful applicant will have an amazing experience.
