Operations Manager - Printing and Engraving

Chilly’s are actively looking for a hands on Operations Manager for our Print and Engraving operation. We are looking for a forward thinking and positive individual to join our Bedford based team.

Founded in 2010, Chilly’s are driven by their aim of enabling everyone to have cold water on-the-go, without having to buy single-use plastic water bottles. The result was the Chilly’s bottle, a modern and stylish product designed to combine the convenience of a plastic water bottle with the eco-friendly benefits of a traditional flask.

In pursuit of our mission to accelerate the adoption and everyday use of reusable products we have now expanded the range to include a wider selection of reusable products with many more exciting products in development! Our products are created for an active urban lifestyle, with the perfect balance of distinctive style and unrivalled performance.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our small team on site in Bedford that print, engrave and assemble our bottles and cups. Your role will be instrumental in driving key areas of our business including personalisation and co-branding.

What you'll be working on:

• Managing the print and engraving operations situated in our Bedford warehouse.
• Liaising with creative, merchandising and commercial teams to manage print workload and deliver high quality output to our customers meeting tight production deadlines.
• Driving the profitability of the operation, maximising efficiency through continuous improvement and resource management.
• Using our innovative printer to print brand logos and patterns onto products for our own products and for co-brand customers.
• Adhering to all Quality Control & Health and Safety procedures and requirements at all times.
• Take accountability and responsibility for achieving company targets and personal objectives.

Requirements

• Experience of managing teams and project / process management experience.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills and attention to detail.
• Competent, committed, keen, and enthusiastic.
• Happy to ‘muck in’ and work throughout the print and engraving operation where required.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• A proactive team player.
• Willingness to undertake training related to the operation and H&S/Legislative requirements.
• Hands-on experience of printing and / or engraving would be ideal (machine specific training provided).
• A real bonus would be the ability to read technical information, including familiarity with the full adobe suite - understanding different file types (jpeg/eps/psd files etc). 
• Possible evenings and weekend work may be required during peak selling seasons such as Christmas, in line with business and customer demand - this is however not obligatory.
• Happy to adhere to security protocols associated with working in a secure environment.
