  • Lead and develop a diverse team of Frontend, Backend, and QA Engineers.

Engineering Manager

We’re looking for a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to join our Product & Engineering department, to take ownership of a talented and diverse team composed of Frontend, Backend and QA Engineers.

About the Role

As an Engineering Manager, you will be part of our exceptional Leadership team who shall support you. You'll be responsible for driving the deliverables and health of a cross-functional distributed team which owns one of our core products. And, in partnership with Product and Design, shall contribute to our continued success in redefining live entertainment with innovative solutions.

You’ll be

  • Responsible for the personal and professional development of your direct reports, empowering them and promoting a growth mindset.
  • Responsible for bringing the team to a higher level of technical and business maturity, by establishing best practices and encouraging collaboration. 
  • Managing and coaching a team of senior IC’s in a range of disciplines (frontend, backend, QA, mobile), who may be more experienced than you.
  • Maintaining an inclusive and engaging culture which supports hybrid / remote working. 
  • Ensuring that projects are delivered on schedule and within budget, maintaining a high level of quality.
  • Working closely with the Product Manager and Design Lead, with the ability to step into their shoes temporarily if needed.
  • Liaising with other functions across the business to deliver on identified outcomes.
  • Defining, leading and contributing to department initiatives, with the aim of driving improvements across the organisation.

You’ll Need 

  • Proven track record of managing a cross-functional team, preferably 2+ years of people management experience.
  • Demonstrable experience developing people and building high-performance teams.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in owning a large project end-to-end from conception to delivery. 
  • Strong technical background to make and own key engineering decisions.
  • Expertise in building highly scalable, reliable, well-tested systems.
  • Aptitude and interest in coaching others on best practices, ideally around topics such as security, maintainability, scalability and/or DevSecOps.
  • Exposure to CI/CD, Containerisation, AWS cloud services or other cloud providers.
  • Have previously coded in at least one of the following, or similar: Elixir, Ruby, Python, Go or Javascript.
  • Preferably qualified with a Computer Science degree or equivalent experience.

We recognise the benefits of hybrid working, and want to create the best balance to ensure we can continue working together effectively. For our UK team, we have a hybrid work policy of three days in the office and two days from anywhere. You can chat about your specific team’s days and expectations during the interview process.
