Role Summary:
- Lead the design, execution, and improvement of all health, safety, and security systems in the DRC
- Ensure staff safety across office, warehouse, and field operations
- Act as the main technical authority and advisor to country leadership on safety and security
Role Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Relevant professional certifications
- 5+ years experience in health, safety, and security management, preferably in humanitarian, development, or NGO contexts
- Experience in high-risk environments
- Fluency in French, proficiency in English and local languages is an advantage

The Role: As the Health, Safety & Security (HSS) Senior Specialist, you will lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of all health, safety, and security systems for our program in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). This role involves ensuring staff safety and security across office, warehouse, and field operations in a complex and volatile risk environment. You will act as the primary technical authority and key advisor to country leadership on staff safety and security topics. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with the option to renew based on business terms.
Job Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Risk Management, International Relations, or a related field. - Relevant professional certifications (e.g., ASP, CSP, NEBOSH, HSE etc) are a strong advantage. - 5+ years of progressive experience in health, safety, and/or security management, preferably in Humanitarian, development, or international NGO contexts. - Experience working in conflict-affected or high-risk environments is a strong advantage. - Fluency in French required; English proficiency strongly preferred. Local languages are an asset.
