Role Summary
- Provide business partner support to Wellcome’s Strategic Programmes as a senior Funding Manager
- Utilise expertise in Directed Funding processes and Wellcome's funding policies to advise strategic activities
- Coordinate, implement, and manage Directed Funding activities, Discretionary Award applications, funding call rounds, and associated Advisory Committees
Role Requirements
- Life science degree or equivalent
- Experience as a Funding Manager or similar role
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- The ability to manage large workloads and prioritize effectively
- Experience in the academic research environment

The role: As a senior level Funding Manager, you will join our Directed Activities team, providing business partner support to Wellcome’s Strategic Programmes. You will use your expertise in Directed Funding processes and knowledge of Wellcome’s funding policies to advise on the delivery and implementation of strategic activities. This role involves coordinating the planning of Directed Funding activities, implementing Discretionary Award applications and funding call rounds, and managing associated Advisory Committees.
Job requirements: The ideal candidate should have a degree or equivalent in a life science subject and experience as a Funding Manager or similar role. You should possess strong stakeholder management and communication skills, and have the ability to manage large workloads and prioritize effectively. Experience in the academic research environment is essential.
