Role Summary

Role Requirements
- Candidates should have proven experience in implementing enterprise architecture strategies and building architecture capabilities.
- Familiarity with TOGAF or equivalent architecture standards is essential, along with the ability to improve the control environment across technology systems.
- Experience in leading teams, managing budgets, and building high-performing, inclusive functions is a must.
- A strong technical understanding across multiple domains such as applications, data, integration, and emerging technologies (AI/ML) is required.

The role: As the Head of Enterprise Architecture at Wellcome Trust, you will lead and shape our technology landscape. This includes providing strategic guidance to the CIO, building an enterprise architecture capability, and driving simplification, governance, and innovation across all systems and data. You will define how technology functions across the entire organisation, ensuring it is future-ready, well-governed, and aligned with Wellcome’s mission. This role involves building the architecture capability from the ground up and advising at the executive level.
Job requirements: The ideal candidate will have proven experience in implementing enterprise architecture strategies and building architecture capabilities. Familiarity with TOGAF or equivalent architecture standards is essential. You should be able to assess, assure, and improve the control environment across technology systems, and have experience leading teams, managing budgets, and building high-performing, inclusive functions. A strong technical understanding across multiple domains such as applications, data, integration, and emerging technologies (AI/ML) is required.
