What will you be doing?

This is a new role and a new organisation, as such we're looking for a marketing communications generalist who is happy to help us start from scratch. We would expect you to currently be working in a marketing & communications role for a third sector organisation because the skills and tasks require experience and knowledge of website development / blog sites, content creation, social media platforms as well as developing marketing strategies and building awareness.  It would be ideal if you are based in North London, but not essential. We expect the Communications volunteer role to broadly include the following:

Working with the Directors, helping to create local communications plans and then implementing them. Upkeep of the EnterTech website, blog and Linkedin pages. Manage content production (written, audio visual etc) with regular liaison with the Directors and the wider EnterTech community. Create visually compelling presentations, and support production of advocacy/marketing collateral, including infographics, videos, leaflets. Help to develop various online resources such as training materials and videos, and advise on best practice on delivering/streaming online learning sessions. Communicating with, and developing our online community by providing email support where necessary between EnterTech and community members.

EnterTech currently consists of just 3 volunteer directors all of whom work full-time in other positions.  Safer Recruitment: EnterTech undertakes a systematic approach and utmost care at every step of the process of volunteer recruitment, selection, and retention to ensure that those recruited are suitable and appropriate. Measures taken at points along this journey work together to make volunteering at EnterTech a positive and safe experience.  References Required: Yes. We will ask for one character reference, ideally this can be a former employer or someone that know you well (other than a relative).

What are we looking for?

EnterTech is a brand-new CIC with just three voluntary directors - we need someone who is a self-starter, able to work on their own initiative (with some direction) and someone truly passionate and engaged in our mission to make a difference alongside us. The volunteer will have at least 3 years' experience in a marketing & communications (or very similar) role. You will be:

Experienced in digital marketing and content production. Experienced in communications outreach, including to local press. Friendly and approachable people. Strategic thinking and able to work on your own initiative. Able to write in English to a very good standard.  Able to be respectful and non-judgemental with either lived experience or knowledge of neurodiversity.

We welcome volunteers of all backgrounds, abilities, races, genders, sexual orientations, socio-economic backgrounds, and of all faiths and none. EnterTech is committed to making reasonable adjustments to support volunteers with disabilities, so they have access to the same opportunities and experiences as volunteers who do not.

What difference will you make?

The Communications Manager volunteer will assist the organisation in managing external communications through strategy, media, digital communications, marketing, branding and storytelling, help produce online learning experiences to reach wider audiences, and overall, empower young neurodivergent women and girls to access more training and employment opportunities in the IT, Tech and Digital sectors.
